Purchase, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State baseball team wrapped up their four-game weekend series with Manhattanville this afternoon and split the doubleheader. The Rams earned an 11-3 victory in game one and fell 7-4 in the second game.

The Rams (3-1, 3-0) struck in the top of the first inning with a one-out 2 RBI double down the first base line by senior right fielder Bobby Pollock (Manorville, N.Y.). Three batters later, FSC increased the lead to 3-0 on a Louis Annunziata (Howard Beach, N.Y.) RBI single to left field. In the next at-bat, freshman left fielder Chris Driscoll (Seaford, N.Y.) singled to left scoring two runs to put Farmingdale State on top, 5-0.

After a bases loaded walk to Manhattanville's (3-5, 2-4) Joseph Silvestri (Bronx, N.Y.) in the bottom of the fourth, a sacrifice fly by shortstop Matt Lynch (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) cut the deficit to 5-2. Center fielder Luke Tebolt (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) followed with an RBI single to right center to score Manhattanville's third run of the inning.

With one out in the top of the sixth, a Driscoll RBI single up the middle sent freshman Daniel Molina (East Meadow, N.Y.) around to score. After stealing second and advancing to third on a wild pitch, Driscoll came home on a throwing error as the Rams went ahead, 7-3.

FSC added a pair of runs in each of the final two innings as they went on for the 11-3 victory.

Driscoll finished 4-for-5 at the plate with two runs scored and 3 RBI to go along with one stolen base. Pollock added two hits including a double, two runs scored and two runs batted in, while freshman catcher Aidan Hutchins (Wading River, N.Y.) was 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Freshman Jordan Lambert (Plainview, N.Y.) (1-0) picked up the win after pitching 3.1 scoreless innings of relief, allowing only two hits.

For the Valiants, sophomore right fielder Jake Parisi (Centereach, N.Y.) registered a team-high two hits.

In game two, Manhattanville jumped out to a 4-0 lead after scoring a run in each of the first four innings.

Farmingdale State cut the deficit in half in the top of the fifth when freshman shortstop Jack Altieri (West Islip, N.Y.) and junior designated hitter Ryan DePalma (Albertson, N.Y.) scored on a Valiants fielding error.

In the top of sixth, the Rams plated two unearned runs and evened the score at 4-4.

Manhattanville quickly regained the lead in the bottom half of the inning on a Tommy Iazzetta (Thornwood, N.Y.) 2 RBI double to right field. In the next at-bat, senior first baseman Matthew Careccia (Bronx, N.Y.) singled through the right side to score Iazzetta and put the Valiants ahead, 7-4.

FSC tallied one hit in the seventh but were unable score and fell, 7-4.

Lambert, freshman second baseman Rick Russo (Wantagh, N.Y.) and sophomore Tony Figliuolo (Glen Cove, N.Y.) each had one hit in the loss for Farmingdale State.

Careccia led the way for Manhattanville after going 4-for-4 at the plate with two runs batted in.
