Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State baseball team hosted Mount Saint Vincent on senior day this afternoon and swept the conference doubleheader with scores of 10-0 and 6-2.

In between games, Brandon O'Neill (North Babylon, N.Y.), Jason Conti (Mount Sinai, N.Y.), Tommy Digiorgi (Dix Hills, N.Y.), Shawn Blasberg (Sound Beach, N.Y.), Logan Hicks (Ekron, KY), Nick Attardi (Smithtown, N.Y.), Vincent Rice (Massapequa Park, N.Y.), Kenneth Simco (Riverhead, N.Y.), Ryan Mallon (Deer Park, N.Y.), Joseph Roche (Westbury, N.Y.) and Matthew Constantine (West Babylon, N.Y.) were each honored for senior day.

In game one, sophomore designated hitter Ryan DePalma (Albertson, N.Y.) led off the bottom of the second with a single up the middle and advanced to second on a stolen base. Two batters later, Conti doubled to left field to put Farmingdale State (29-7, 17-1) on top, 1-0. After an FSC groundout, O'Neill hit an RBI single to right center to score Conti and increase the lead to 2-0.

With one out and two on in the bottom of the fifth, a Michael Amandola (North Babylon, N.Y.) RBI single followed by a DePalma sacrifice fly put the Rams out in front, 4-0.

FSC plated a run in the fifth inning and added five in the eighth for the 10-0, 8-inning run-rule victory in game one.

Junior center fielder Vincent Napolitano (Bellmore, N.Y.) was 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored, while DePalma had two hits, a run scored and 2 RBI. O'Neill, Conti and Amandola each recorded a hit, a run scored and two runs batted in for FSC.

Junior pitcher Steven Burke (North Babylon, N.Y.) earned the win improved to 5-0 on the year after tossing 7.1 shutout innings allowing four hits and striking out eight.

Tied 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning of game two, the Rams took a one-run lead on a Napolitano RBI single which scored sophomore center fielder Cam Alfano (Yaphank, N.Y.). After a Rice single to center and stolen base, Amandola hit a 2 RBI single through the left side to put Farmingdale State ahead, 5-2. DePalma used an RBI single up to middle to plate Amandola for the final run of the game as the Rams won, 6-2.

Rice and junior first baseman Morgan McCarthy (Oceanside, N.Y.) each led the way for FSC by going 2-for-3 with a run scored. Simco (1-0) pitched 0.1 innings of relief and picked up his first win of the season.

Farmingdale State will host the four-team double-elimination Skyline Conference Baseball Championship on May 3-5.
