Game 1: Farmingdale State - 24, Yeshiva - 3  (F/7)

Palisades Park, N.J. - The Farmingdale State baseball team traveled to Overpeck Park for a Skyline Conference doubleheader with Yeshiva this morning and earned 24-3 and 15-2 victories. The Rams now stand at 12-5 overall and 3-1 in conference action, while the Maccabees dropped to 1-13, 0-8.

In game one, FSC was led offensively by junior second baseman Tyler Schrimpf (Miller Place, N.Y.) who was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and 3 RBI, while junior outfielders Vincent Rice (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and Jimmy Mattera (West Islip, N.Y.) were each 3-for-5 with two runs scored and three runs batted in. Junior center fielder Steven Burke (North Babylon, N.Y.) had three hits, scored two runs and had 1 RBI and sophomore designated hitter Michael Amandola (North Babylon, N.Y.) was 2-for-5 at the plate with a game-high four runs scored and an RBI. Junior first baseman Morgan McCarthy (Oceanside, N.Y.) finished the game 1-for-2 with two runs scored and a game-high 4 RBI.

Freshman Robert Belotti (Deer Park, N.Y.) recorded the win and improved to 1-1 on the year after pitching two innings allowing only one hit. Four Farmingdale State pitchers held Yeshiva to only two hits in the victory.

In the second game, Rice was 3-for-3 with two doubles, a triple, a stolen base, two runs scored and 1 RBI, while senior shortstop Shawn Blasberg (Sound Beach, N.Y.) went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored and 3 RBI. McCarthy and junior left fielder Nick Attardi (Smithtown, N.Y.) each had a pair of hits in the game two win for Farmingdale State.

Senior pitcher Kenneth Simco (Riverhead, N.Y.) (1-0) earned the win after tossing 3.2 innings allowing four hits and no earned runs.

Yeshiva's Aryeh Salovey (San Diego, Calif.) and Alex Malech (West Orange, N.J.) each recorded two hits.

FSC next will travel to Patchogue, N.Y. for a Skyline Conference doubleheader at St. Joseph's-LI on Sunday, March 31st at 11:00 a.m.
