Greensboro, N.C. - The 2017 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. III All-Region teams and Regional Players of the Year have been announced in all eight regions. The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. III All-America Committee.
Farmingdale State senior pitcher Matt Seelinger (Westbury, N.Y.) was named Second Team ABCA/Rawlings All-New York Region. In 51.2 innings pitched, Seelinger posted a 4-1 record with a 1.39 ERA and 69 strikeouts, while holding opposing batters to a .159 average. He leaves FSC as the all-time leader in strikeouts per nine innings (10.58), ranked second in strikeouts (199), third for lowest opponents batting average (.186), fifth in innings pitched (169.1) and wins (13) and seventh for hits allowed (114). This season his .159 opponents batting average and 12.02 strikeouts per nine innings were the third best in program-history.
