Marino Named D3baseball.com All-Region

- 2015 D3baseball.com All-Region Teams -

The D3baseball.com All-Region teams have been announced. The 2015 season marks the fourth year that D3baseball.com has named All-Region teams, with 800 players nominated. The ballot was then made available to SIDs, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region, as well as D3baseball.com staff and contributors.

Farmingdale State senior outfielder Michael Marino (Franklin Square, N.Y.) was selected to the All-New York Region Second Team. Marino finished the season ranked 6th in the Nation with a .463 batting average, to go along with his conference and team-leading 50 hits. He also finished the year with team-highs of 26 stolen bases, 17 walks, 10 doubles, a .539 on-base percentage and .602 slugging percentage.

For each of the eight regions, there is a regional player of the year (a batter), a pitcher of the year, a rookie of the year (must be a freshman) and a coach of the year.

Players were nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various institutions, who were contacted multiple times as the season wound down to remind them to make their players eligible.
