New York, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State baseball team had five players named All-Conference in voting conducted by the league's eight head coaches. Senior outfielder Michael Marino (Franklin Square, N.Y.) was named to the First Team, while junior first baseman Dalton McCarthy (Manorville, N.Y.), senior outfielder Anthony Alvino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.), sophomore utility Richard Sullivan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and freshman pitcher Ryan O'Connor (Babylon, N.Y.) each earned Second Team honors.
Marino led the Rams in batting average (.467), hits (50), doubles (10), on-base percentage (.543), slugging percentage (.607) and stolen bases (26) and was second in runs scored (28) and RBI (21). Marino is ranked fourth in Division III for batting average and ninth in both on-base percentage and stolen bases per game.
McCarthy appeared in every game this season and had 31 hits and 21 RBI's. He led Farmingdale State in home runs with two and was second on the team in triples (2).
Alvino posted a career-high .418 batting average this year, which was the second highest on the team. He was second on FSC in hits (38), doubles (8), triples (2), stolen bases (11), on-base percentage (.486) and slugging percentage (.549). Alvino was the 10th hardest batter to strike out in the nation.
Sullivan appeared in 27 games with 22 hits and 10 runs scored. He was fourth on FSC with a .355 on-base percentage.
O'Connor, who pitched in 12 games with four starts, had a team-leading six wins this season. He posted a 3.99 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 38.1 innings of work.
