Rams Drop Non-Conference Matchup Against Stevens

Farmingdale, N.Y. - In a home non-conference baseball game this afternoon, Farmingdale State was defeated 3-0 by Stevens. The Rams fell to 16-15 on the year, while the Ducks improved to 26-10.

In the top of the third, junior center fielder Jonathan Toro (Sanford, Fla.) hit a one-out double to center. After advancing to third on a wild pitch, Toro would later score on a fielding error to put Stevens ahead, 1-0.

The Ducks increased their lead to 2-0 in the sixth on a Michael Mule (Boca Raton, Fla.) bases loaded walk. In their next at-bat, a Nolan Bennett (Chatsworth, Calif.) sacrifice fly gave Stevens a 3-0 advantage.

Farmingdale State had two runners on with no outs in the ninth but were unable to score as the Ducks earned the 3-0 non-conference victory.

Junior Jason Yano (Foothill Ranch, Calif.) earned the win for Stevens after allowing one hit and striking out five in six innings pitched.

The Rams next will face Old Westbury in the first round of the Skyline Conference Playoffs on Friday, May 1st at 4:00 p.m. The tournament will be play at St. Joseph's College.
