
Farmingdale State - 4, Mount Saint Vincent - 2
Bronx, N.Y. - In a single 9-inning make-up game versus Mount Saint Vincent, the Rams earned a 4-2 victory on Friday night. Farmingdale State now stands at 19-10 (9-5) heading into their regular season finale against St. Joseph's on Saturday afternoon.
Trailing 2-1 in the top of the fourth, junior right fielder Michael Marino (Franklin Square, N.Y.) led off the inning with a walk and stole second. After reaching third on a passed ball, he eventually scored an unearned run to tie the game at 2-2.
Junior shortstop Anthony Alvino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) put the Rams ahead 3-2 in the fifth with a single through the right side scoring Edward Bergmann (East Meadow, N.Y.). Marino followed with an RBI single through the left side to increase the advantage to 4-2.
Senior pitcher Chris Dragone (Hicksville, N.Y.) shut down the Dolphins over the final four innings to earn the victory. Dragone (1-0) tossed 7.2 scoreless innings of relief with one walk and four strikeouts.
Marino was 1-for-3 with a run scored and 2 RBI, while Bergmann scored two runs for Farmingdale State.
The home doubleheader against St. Joe's will start on Saturday, April 26th at noon.
