New York, N.Y. - Having won the last six league championships, Farmingdale State has been selected to capture the 2014 Skyline baseball title in voting conducted by the league's nine head coaches.

FSC earned six first-place votes and 62 overall points. The Rams welcome back senior righthander Michael Dolce (St. James, N.Y.), a first-team All-Conference and ABCA/Rawlings All-Region selection a year ago after posting a 6-1 record and a Division III best 0.75 earned run average.

Shortstop Anthony Alvino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) enters his junior season after leading the team in RBI's (30) a year ago. Sophomore first baseman Dalton McCarthy (Manorville, N.Y.) and junior second baseman Tom Rydzewski (Franklin Square, N.Y.) round out a veteran infield for Farmingdale State. Last season, McCarthy batted .316 with eight doubles, seven triples and two home runs, while Rydzewski batted .395 and was named Second Team All-Conference before suffering a season-ending injury.

Sophomore pitcher Alex Weingarten (East Rockaway, N.Y.) is coming off a rookie campaign in which he appeared in 18 games, recorded four saves and posted a 2.47 ERA.

Joining the team this year is freshman infielder Andrew Karkota (Manorville, N.Y.), freshman pitcher Matt Seelinger (Levittown, N.Y.) and junior transfer Alex Pangourelias (Briarwood, N.Y.).
