Farmingdale, N.Y. - The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-American teams were announced on Monday, May 27th. The teams are selected by a committee of eight coaches throughout the country, who are responsible for naming All-Region teams, All-Americans, Coaches of the Year and Gold Glove recipients.
Senior outfielder David Zilnicki (Riverhead, N.Y.) was named Third Team All-American this season for Farmingdale State. In Division III, Zilnicki ranked fourth in stolen bases (37), fifth in both stolen bases per game (0.9) and on-base percentage (.552) and 14th in batting average (.434). In 41 games played this year, he had team-high's in hits (53), runs scored (44), walks (29), stolen bases, batting average and on-base percentage. Zilnicki was second on the Rams in slugging percentage (.541) and third in RBI's (24). In Zilnicki's four years at Farmingdale State, his team captured the Skyline Conference Championship each year.
