New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Spring weekly report #10 on Monday, May 6, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Baseball Update (28-11) - Full Report

The Farmingdale State baseball team captured their sixth consecutive Skyline Conference Championship this past weekend. The Rams have clinched a berth into the NCAA Regional Tournament on May 15-19. The Regional field will be announced on Monday, May 13th.

Freshman pitcher Alex Weingarten (East Rockaway, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Weingarten earned a win and a save with eight scoreless innings in relief as Farmingdale State captured its sixth consecutive Skyline title. He threw four hitless innings for the victory on May 4th as the Rams recorded a 5-1 win over Old Westbury. Weingarten scattered three hits over four innings on May 5th to notch the save as FSC edged Old Westbury, 2-1. He struck out seven batters in the two appearances and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Championship. He currently holds a 2.42 ERA heading into the NCAA Regionals.

Freshman pitcher Kevin Martinez (Glen Cove, N.Y.) earned Rookie of the Week honors. Martinez hurled five hitless innings over two appearances out of the bullpen in the Skyline Conference Tournament. He pitched two innings of the Rams' 5-0 win over Maritime on May 3rd and earned his second victory of the season with three hitless innings of relief on May 5th versus Old Westbury. This is his second Skyline Rookie of the Week honor this season.
