Skyline Spring Reporting Week #3 Released

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the 3rd spring report for the 2011-12 season this afternoon, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for baseball, softball, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse and men's tennis.

Baseball Update - Full Report

The baseball team had an off week and will open up conference play with a home doubleheader against Yeshiva on Friday, March 23rd at 10:00 a.m. The Rams will play Stevens in a non-conference 9-inning game following Yeshiva at 3:30 p.m.

Softball Update - Full Report

The softball team finished with an 8-4 record after playing 12 games in Florida last week. Freshman pitcher Taylor Tedeschi (Levittown, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. Tedeschi went 3-0 and threw complete games against Transylvania and Centenary. She posted a 1.84 earned run average and had 12 strikeouts on the week. Senior first baseman Aubrey Walker (West Babylon, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Walker batted .342 in 12 games and had 9 RBI and eight runs scored.

Men's Lacrosse Update - Full Report

The Rams traveled to Greensboro, N.C. and posted a 1-1 record in two games played. Senior midfielder Tim Caden (Setauket, N.Y.) led Farmingdale State to a thrilling 12-11 double overtime win with a man-down goal against Greensboro College. Junior midfielder Bobby Thomas (Wantagh, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Thomas had three assists versus Guilford and scored two goals and added two assists in the win over Greensboro. He finished with a team-leading seven points this week.

Women's Lacrosse Update - Full Report

The women's lacrosse team continued their solid play with non-conference victories over Western Connecticut and New Paltz. The Rams stand at 4-0 on the season and will host Oneonta State on Tuesday, March 20th at 4:00 p.m. Freshman midfielder Christy Thoden (Bayport, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Thoden scored five goals, picked up 23 ground balls and had 17 draw controls in two games. She set the Farmingdale State single game school-record for ground balls with 13 against Western Connecticut.

Men's Tennis Update - Full Report

The Rams did not compete last week and will host a scrimmage against Suffolk CC on Wednesday, March 21st at 4:00 p.m. Farmingdale State will be host CCNY in a non-conference match on Friday, March 23rd at 4:30 p.m. and host their first Skyline match against Mount Saint Mary on Saturday, March 24th at 1:00 p.m.
