Skyline Spring Reporting Week #2 Released

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the 2nd spring report for the 2011-12 season this afternoon, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for baseball, softball, men's lacrosse and women's lacrosse.

Baseball Update - Full Report

The baseball team hosted The University of Southern Maine in a pair of games this weekend. In an 8-4 loss on Saturday, junior left fielder David Zilnicki (Riverhead, N.Y.) led the Rams with a 3-for-5 performance at the plate with one run scored and 2 RBI. Farmingdale State fell 7-6 on Sunday as Southern Maine scored two runs in the eighth inning.

Softball Update - Full Report

The Rams open up the 2012 season this week playing 12 games at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida.

Men's Lacrosse Update - Full Report

The men's lacrosse team finished the week 1-1 with a 13-8 win over Vassar and a 10-9 last minute loss to Hartwick.

Freshman midfielder Donovan Devaney (Northport, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. Devaney scored three goals and had eight ground balls in Farmingdale State's win over Vassar. He added an assist and four ground balls against Hartwick and was 12-for-23 on face-offs this week.

Senior midfielder Tim Caden (Setauket, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Caden tallied seven points (2 goals, 5 assists) this week. He scored one goal and had three assists versus Vassar and added a goal, two assists and caused four turnovers against Hartwick.

Women's Lacrosse Update - Full Report

The women's lacrosse team opened up the 2012 season with a 2-0 week as they picked up non-conference wins over both Manhattanville and Hartwick.

Freshman midfielder Nicole Marzocca (West Babylon, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Marzocca recorded a team-high 11 points with nine goals and two assists this week. In the 16-5 win over Manhattanville, she scored four goals and added two assists. Against Hartwick, Marzocca had a game-high five goals and picked up four ground balls.

Freshman midfielder Christy Thoden (Bayport, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Thoden fell one draw control shy of the Farmingdale State single game school record after recording 11 draw controls in her first collegiate game. Thoden also scored four goals in her Rams debut in the win over Manhattanville. She tallied nine DC's and added a goal in the 12-7 non-conference win over Hartwick.

Men's Tennis Update

The Rams will host a scrimmage next against Suffolk CC on March 21 at 4:00 p.m.
