Farmingdale, NY – The Farmingdale State baseball team (12-13, 7-1) swept Kings Point (6-15, 7-1) today in a Skyline Conference doubleheader in Farmingdale, NY. Rams sophomore pitcher Jesse Scott (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) pitched a complete game no-hitter giving up two walks and striking out five in seven innings for the 5-0 victory in the second game of the doubleheader. Sophomore pitcher William Jansen (Westhampton Beach, NY/Westhampton Beach) got the 12-0 win in the first game, going eight innings with six strike outs.

In game one, sophomore shortstop Luis Feliciano (Bronx, NY/Park West) led the Farmingdale offense going 3-for-4 with two runs batted in. Junior third baseman John Basquez (Sunnyside, NY/Cordoza) added three runs batted in with a triple and a walk. Freshman designated hitter Michael Labrozzi (Sag Harbor, NY/Pierson) went 2-for-4 with one run batted in and one run scored. Junior outfielder Nick Barone (North Babylon, NY/North Babylon) added a triple and an RBI. Junior second baseman Ryan Pembroke (Wading River, NY/ Shoreham Wading River) reached base in every at-bat adding three runs for the Rams on a hit and two walks. Mariners' senior starting pitcher Matthew Krohn (Mansfield, TX/Mansfield) suffered the loss, lasting five and one-third innings, giving up seven earned runs on nine hits while striking out seven.

In game two, Farmingdale's starting pitcher Jesse Scott went the distance to throw a no-hitter to complete the doubleheader sweep. Scott allowed only three Kings Point batters to reach base on two walks and an infield error. Basquez added a two-out double down the left field line, scoring Barone, to add to the Rams 2-run first inning. Labrozzi finished the game 2-for-3 with a double. Mariners sophomore L.J. Fioravanti (Roseville, MN/Roseville Area) pitched six innings giving up four earned runs on eight hits for the loss.

Farmingdale will host Nassau CC on Wednesday, April 5th at 3:30pm. The next Skyline Conference doubleheader is slated for Saturday, April 8th at Noon in Patchogue, N.Y. against St. Joseph's.
