FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) recently announced that Tom Emberley, Director of Athletic Communications at Farmingdale State College, has been selected to serve a four-year term on the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Committee, effective September 1.

Emberley is in the start of his second year in a full-time capacity at Farmingdale State, and has served the College as an adjunct assistant professor in its sport management department since 2016. He previously served a four-year term on the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Committee from 2016-20, including a stint as its chair during the 2019-20 academic year, before holding a spot on the NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Committee from 2020-22. In the latter role, the men's volleyball committee successfully played host to the 12-team NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Championship in Salem, Va., which was the first Division III championship event following the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Emberley, who has served in on-campus and conference office capacities in all three NCAA divisions in his career, has also served the NCAA as a championships site rep in various sports, on the Division III Regional Rules Seminar Advisory Group in 2016 and on the Division II Eligibility Center Advisory Team in 2010.
