FSC Spring Athletics Update #4

NEW YORK | The Skyline Conference released its latest spring weekly reports Tuesday morning, with two Farmingdale State College student-athletes collecting weekly awards while seven others were cited on the weekly honor roll.

Men's Lacrosse (6-1) | Skyline Report

The Rams are now riding a six-game winning streak, after wrapping up their Florida trip by shutting out Eastern Connecticut on Thursday and cruising past Sage at home on Sunday afternoon.

Senior midfielder Jack Gilbride (E. Moriches, N.Y.) was named the Skyline's Offensive Player of the Week, while junior face-off specialist Antonio Kaminskey (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) collected Defensive Player of the Week kudos. Gilbride registered an 11-point week (8g, 3a), including a hat trick within the first 4:17 of play against Sage. Kaminskey was essential towards FSC having offensive possession time, winning 35-of-43 (.814) of his draws at the midfield "x" to go with 25 ground balls.

Freshman attacker JP Boreshesky (Nesconset, N.Y.) was named to the weekly honor roll once again after a six-point week for the Rams.

Head coach Sean Chamberlain's side plays host to Western Connecticut on Wednesday at 4 p.m., before traveling to Alvernia (Pa.) for a 1 p.m. face-off on Saturday.

Women's Lacrosse (2-3) | Skyline Report

Farmingdale State wrapped up its stay in Florida with a 13-4 victory over Curry (Mass.). 

Senior attacker Athena Vogiatzis (Holtsville, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline's weekly honor roll after her 10-point week (9g, a) in the Sunshine State, as was freshman attacker Krystal Sulin (Nesconset, N.Y.), who registered two goals on as many shots in her collegiate debut against Curry.

Head coach Erin Calkins's Rams will play host to Kean University on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.

Baseball (4-6) | Skyline Report

FSC returns from Florida with a 4-6 record.

Senior right-handed pitcher Stephen Clancy (Mineola, N.Y.) and junior first baseman Jordan Lambert (Plainview, N.Y.) both collected weekly honor roll mentions. Clancy threw five strong innings, scattering four hits and one earned run while striking out five in a no-decision Thursday against No. 13 Denison (Ohio), while Lambert has now hit safely in his last seven field appearances after going 3-for-10 with a double, triple and three runs scored to round out the team's stay in the Sunshine State.

Head coach Keith Osik's Rams will play host to John Jay on Thursday at 4 p.m., before opening Skyline Conference play with a noon doubleheader Sunday against College of Mount Saint Vincent.

Softball (2-7) | Skyline Report

The Rams rounded out their stay in Kissimmee, Fla., with six contests, including a 7-3 victory in their nightcap on Tuesday against the University of Southern Maine.

Senior center fielder Priscilla Rivera (Brentwood, N.Y.) landed on the Skyline weekly honor roll after batting .381 with six runs and a 4-for-4 effort in stolen bases to wrap up the team's trip, and was joined on the honor roll by freshman corner infielder Samantha Stolfi (Pt. Jefferson Station, N.Y.), who drove in 10 runs over Farmingdale State's final seven games of spring break.

Head coach Liz Pennino's FSC squad is next in action Thursday afternoon, when it plays host to a non-conference doubleheader against Baruch College at 4.

Men's Tennis (1-1)

Three contests await head coach Adam Waterhouse's Rams to start the spring portion of their season this week, beginning with Tuesday's 4:30 p.m. first serve against visiting Baruch College. FSC will travel to Brooklyn College Friday afternoon at 4, before playing host to Yeshiva University in Farmingdale State's Skyline opener, Sunday at 1 p.m.

Golf

The Skyline Conference-champion Rams will next play at The Bridges Golf Course in Hanover, Pa., this weekend, when head coach Ryan Williams leads his team into action at the McDaniel Spring Invite.

Outdoor Track and Field

The spring campaign kicks off for head coach Daniela Georgieva's teams on Saturday, when they travel to Galloway, N.J., for the Stockton Invitational.
