The top-seeded Rams captured their sixth Skyline Conference championship after running through their three-game stint last week, toppling Mount Saint Mary in Tuesday's quarterfinal, Maritime in semifinal action Thursday, and second-seeded Manhattanville, 71-65, in Saturday's championship final at the Walter A. Lynch Sports Center. Senior guard Corey Powell (Valley Stream, N.Y.) was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Championship, and took home his second Player of the Week accolade in Tuesday's release.

Farmingdale State will now appear in its seventh NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship, and head coach Brendan Twomey's side will travel to Hampden Sydney, Va., for a 4:50 p.m. first-round tip Friday afternoon against second-ranked Christopher Newport University.

Indoor Track and Field

Head coach Daniela Georgieva's Rams competed Friday in the Fastrack Last Chance Meet in Staten Island, and senior Alycia Haynes (Adams Center, N.Y.) moved to No. 2 all-time in program history with her 2:24.10 time in the 800-meter run.

Haynes highlights a list of FSC student-athletes who will compete at the March 3-4, All-Atlantic Region Indoor Track & Field Championships at the New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory in Manhattan. In total, three women's and as many men's competitors will compete in individual events at the two-day affair, while the 4x200-meter relay quartet from each side will also take to the track in search of qualifying performances for the upcoming NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships.

The Rams lifted the lid on their 2023 campaign Sunday afternoon, dropping a 15-7 decision at Division II and receiving-votes Lynn University.

Sophomore netminder Dan Erler (Smithtown, N.Y.) was cited on the Skyline's weekly honor roll, after a 15-save showing in 45 minutes of play against the Fighting Knights -- including 10 stops in the first period.

Head coach Sean Chamberlain's squad next faces a three-game homestand, beginning Wednesday at 4 p.m. versus SUNY New Paltz and Saturday at noon against Hartwick.

Baseball

Head coach Keith Osik's FSC side saw its Saturday doubleheader against UMass-Dartmouth postponed, and has three games scheduled for this coming weekend -- including a 3 p.m. first pitch Friday afternoon against Ramapo College of New Jersey, and a 1 p.m. twinbill versus Keene State College (N.H.).

Women's Lacrosse

Farmingdale State will open its 2023 season Saturday afternoon, when head coach Erin Calkins's team plays host to Montclair State University at 2:30 p.m.
