FSC Winter Athletics Update #8

NEW YORK | The Skyline Conference released its eighth edition of winter weekly reports Tuesday morning, and two Farmingdale State College student-athletes were recognized for their play last week.

Men's Basketball (10-4, 5-0 Skyline) | Skyline Report

The Rams remain undefeated in Skyline play, after posting resounding wins Wednesday at St. Joseph's-Brooklyn, and Saturday versus Old Westbury.

Freshman Macai John (Hauppauge, N.Y.) garnered his first Rookie of the Week kudos from the Skyline, after averaging 11.5 points per game on 8-of-12 shooting in 32 minutes of play -- including a SportsCenter Top 10-nominee, two-handed dunk in the first half of the Old Westbury contest.

Senior Nick Hurowitz (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) earned a spot on both the Skyline and Met Basketball Writers Association weekly honor rolls, after shooting .591 from the floor (13-of-22) while averaging 15 points, 7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per outing over 36 minutes of action.

Head coach Brendan Twomey's side returns to conference play Saturday, when it travels to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy for a noon tip-off.

Women's Basketball (3-10, 2-6 Skyline) | Skyline Report

Head coach Mark Dellecave's FSC squad fell in road tilts last week to defending conference champion Mount Saint Mary, as well as St. Joseph's-Brooklyn. The Rams welcome St. Joseph's-Long Island to Nold Hall on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Indoor Track and Field

Head coach Daniela Georgieva's men's and women's teams are back in action Monday, when they take part in the St. John's University MLK Day Invitational at 10 a.m. from the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island.
