GREENWOOD, Ind. | College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) announced its 2022 men's and women's soccer Academic All-District teams Tuesday afternoon, and three student-athletes from Farmingdale State College collected NCAA Division III recognition.

Senior striker Brandon Balcaceres (Farmingdale, N.Y.) took home praise on the men's side, while seniors Mackenzie Caterina (Walden, N.Y.) and Lindsey Jolly (Massapequa, N.Y.) garnered accolades on the women's squad.

Balcaceres, a Mechanical Engineering Technology major with a 3.65 GPA (4.0 scale) at FSC, scored career-bests in goals (six), assists (team-high-tying five) and points (17), with the latter mark leading head coach Chuck Schimpf's Rams, who compiled a 9-6-2 record on the season (7-2-2 Skyline). Balcaceres picked up a pair of two-goal games on the season, including in a five-point effort Sept. 12 at Brooklyn College, and in an important road Skyline Conference tilt at Manhattanville (Oct. 11) -- which was part of a seven-game winning streak for Farmingdale State.

Balcaceres is one of nine student-athletes recognized on the list from Skyline Conference institutions.

Two key members on the defensive side for head coach Chris Roche's women's program (10-9-4, 8-1-2 Skyline), as well. Caterina was a first-team All-Skyline Conference performer in her first season as a starter (20 gp), splitting time between center back and defensive midfield. The Nursing major has a perfect 4.0 GPA, and her second-half goal in the Skyline semifinals at Mount Saint Vincent (Nov. 2) sent the Rams to their seventh-consecutive conference finals appearance.

Jolly was a first-team all-conference selection for Farmingdale State as a goalkeeper, and owns a 3.92 GPA in FSC's Criminal Justice Law Enforcement Technology major. She started in 11 of her 15 appearances as a senior, posting a 1.00 goals-against average (No. 2 in Skyline) and .797 save percentage (No. 3). She was a part of seven shutouts for the Rams defense this year, including her clean sheet in the extra-time, Skyline Championship final at Sarah Lawrence (Nov. 5).

Caterina and Jolly were two out of seven student-athletes recognized on the list from Skyline Conference institutions.

All three Farmingdale State student-athletes are now eligible for Academic All-America®, selected by College Sports Communicators, team consideration, with voting taking place across the country by CSC members over the next week (Nov. 15-22). The women's Academic All-America team will be announced on Dec. 6 (Tue.), with the men's list being published 24 hours later.
