FSC Athletics Fall Update #4

NEW YORK | The Skyline Conference released its weekly reports Tuesday morning, with four Farmingdale State student-athletes receiving mention:
 
Women's Soccer (2-6-1, 2-0 Skyline) | Skyline Report
 
After Tuesday night's match at Maritime was suspended, Farmingdale State fell at 12th-ranked Montclair State by a 1-0 count Thursday, before remaining undefeated in Skyline play with a 1-0 triumph against USMMA.
 
Freshman Alyse Rivera (New York, N.Y.) was selected as the Skyline's Rookie of the Week after setting up the game-winning goal on her first-career assist early in the second half of Saturday's conference victory over USMMA.
 
Conference play continues for head coach Chris Roche's Rams on Wednesday night, when they travel to St. Joseph's-Brooklyn for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Randall's Island.

The Rams got back into action Sunday morning at the Mount Saint Mary Invitational in Milton, N.Y., with the men's squad placing fourth and the women's contingent placing seventh.
 
On the women's side, senior Alycia Haynes (Adams Ctr., N.Y.) earned honor-roll recognition after her second-place finish in the race, as did men's counterpart Matthew Calogianes (Sr.; Deer Park, N.Y.) following his fifth-place showing.
 
Head coach Daniela Georgieva's FSC teams will race at Bethpage State Park for the second time this season on Friday afternoon, when they compete in Golden Eagles Invitational.
 
Women's Tennis (4-3, 1-0 Skyline) | Skyline Report
 
The Rams registered a 5-0 road victory in a rain-shortened match last Monday at Western Connecticut, before suffering a loss Saturday against Oneonta.
 
Senior standout Anastasia Hoffman (Massapequa, N.Y.) garnered Skyline honor-roll accolades following a week in which she moved to 4-2 on the season at No. 1 doubles, and 5-2 in top-flight singles play.
 
Waterhouse's team will travel to Brooklyn College on Thursday at 4 p.m., before returning to Skyline competition Saturday at 11 a.m. at Purchase College.

Head coach Ryan Williams's Farmingdale State side was off last week, and will compete this weekend (Oct. 1-2) in the Mason-Dixon Collegiate event at Waynesboro (Pa.) Country Club.
 
Men's Soccer (2-4-1, 0-1-1 Skyline) | Skyline Report
 
Following a setback in its Skyline Conference opener Wednesday against St. Joseph's-Long Island, the Rams played the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy level on Saturday afternoon in a 0-0 draw.
 
Head coach Chuck Schimpf's FSC squad will face St. Joseph's-Brooklyn in Farmingdale Tuesday night at 7, before traveling to Mount Saint Mary on Saturday in a 1 p.m. kickoff.
 
Men's Tennis (1-0)
 
FSC was off last week, and will wrap up the fall portion of its 2022-23 slate Friday afternoon, when head coach Adam Waterhouse's contingent travels to Garden City, N.Y., for a 2 p.m. first serve at Adelphi.
 
Women's Volleyball (1-7, 0-1 Skyline) | Skyline Report
 
After a quartet of road matches last week, head coach Kellie Block's Farmingdale State team has three-consecutive home matches this coming week. The Rams will play in Nold Hall for the first time in 21 days on Tuesday night against conference foe Mount Saint Mary, before playing host in Skyline action Thursday versus Purchase (both 7 p.m. starts). Saturday, FSC welcomes Pratt Institute for a 1 p.m., non-conference match.
