FSC Athletics Spring Update #8

NEW YORK | The Skyline Conference released its final weekly reports of the Spring 2022 campaign Tuesday morning (May 3), including its Player and Rookie of the Week selections, Honor Roll designees and statistical leaders. Additionally, the Skyline's spring championship tournaments get underway this week.

Baseball (21-13, 13-7 Skyline) | Skyline Report

The Rams wrapped up regular-season action with four Skyline contests last weekend, including a sweep on the road at USMMA on Saturday before suffering two setbacks Sunday.

Senior right-handed pitcher Stephen Clancy and junior right fielder Bobby Pollock were both cited on the Skyline's Honor Roll for their roles in helping the Rams to a game-one, extra-innings victory Saturday against the Mariners.

Head coach Keith Osik's Farmingdale State side has earned the No. 2 seed into this week's Skyline Championship, and received a first-round bye into this weekend's four-team, double-elimination portion of the tourney at St. Joseph's-Long Island in Patchogue, N.Y. The Rams will get underway Friday at 2 p.m., against the winner of Wednesday night's first-round contest between Manhattanville and Mount Saint Vincent.

Golf

Head coach Ryan Williams's Rams placed first in Friday's seven-team Old Westbury Invitational at Eisenhower Park, with junior Chris Iguchi earning medalist honors with a minus-2 round of 70. Farmingdale State will now travel to Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., for the May 10-13, NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship at the Mission Inn Resort and Club.

Men's Lacrosse (11-3, 5-2 Skyline) | Skyline Report

The Rams wrapped up regular-season play with double-digit victories Tuesday night at Manhattanville, and Friday night versus Purchase.

Senior attackman Terrence Haggerty was named the Skyline's Offensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this season, while junior netminder Kevin Loonie collected his third Defensive Player of the Week citation for their play on the week.

Head coach Sean Chamberlain's Rams have the No. 3 seed in this week's Skyline Championship, and will travel to Kings Point, N.Y., on Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. semifinal at USMMA.

Women's Lacrosse (8-7, 6-1 Skyline) | Skyline Report

FSC wrapped up regular-season competition with a shutout victory Wednesday at Purchase, before grinding out a one-goal victory Saturday at Mount Saint Vincent to lock up the No. 2 seed in this week's Skyline Championship.

Sophomore goalie Ronnie Reilly was named the Skyline's Defensive Player of the Week, along with garnering her second Rookie of the Week accolade of the campaign.

Head coach Erin Calkins's squad will start on its quest to defend its Skyline title, when the Rams play host to a semifinal on Thursday at 5 p.m., against the winner of Tuesday's first-round contest between Mount Saint Vincent and Maritime.

Softball (26-3, 17-1 Skyline) | Skyline Report

The Rams went 6-0 in Skyline play last week, sweeping Yeshiva, Purchase and Mount Saint Mary to clinch the No. 1 seed and hosting rights for this weekend's Skyline Conference Championship.

Senior shortstop Jessica Clark took home Player of the Week praise from the Skyline, while freshman pitcher Ava Shorr earned her first Pitcher, and second Rookie, of the Week honors after firing the third perfect game in school history Tuesday night at Yeshiva.

Head coach Liz Pennino's Farmingdale State contingent, ranked No. 1 in Region 3 last week in the NCAA Division III Softball Regional Rankings, will play host to this weekend's four-team, double-elimination portion of the Skyline tourney. The Rams will look to defend their conference title when they open play Thursday at 4 p.m., against the winner of Tuesday's St. Joseph's-Brooklyn/St. Joseph's-Long Island contest.

Men's Tennis (9-5, 5-2 Skyline) | Skyline Report

FSC enters this week's Skyline Conference Championship on a six-match winning streak, including victories last week at Western Connecticut, and versus both Brooklyn College and USMMA.

Senior top-flight player Mark Baker earned his third Skyline Player of the Week award on the campaign, while freshman Vincent Manzi was cited on the Honor Roll.

Head coach Adam Waterhouse's Rams are the No. 3 seed in this week's championship, and will start their quest to defend their title at home Tuesday afternoon, playing host to sixth-seeded St. Joseph's-Long Island at 4:30 p.m.

Track and Field

Head coach Daniela Georgieva's Rams competed Friday and Saturday at the TCNJ Lions Outdoor Invitational, in preps for this coming weekend's (May 7-8) New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships in Ewing, N.J.
