Emberley Hired as Director of Athletic Communications

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State Department of Athletics has announced Tom Emberley as its new Director of Athletic Communications.

Emberley, who has served as an adjunct assistant professor in FSC's sport management department since 2016, begins in a full-time capacity after a nearly seven-year stint as Associate Commissioner of the Skyline Conference. In his time at the Skyline, he oversaw publicity and promotion of the 12-institution, 19-championship Division III conference, in addition to championship administration, finances and scheduling.

The Fitchburg, Massachusetts native previously worked at SUNY Old Westbury as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Operations from 2013-15, in addition to on-campus positions at Yeshiva University, Queens College, LIU-C.W. Post, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, La Salle University and the U.S. Naval Academy. Emberley's professional career also included assistant commissioner positions at both the City University of New York Athletic Conference, and the NCAA Division II East Coast Conference.

Emberley is a 2001 graduate of Western New England University, where he was a two-year member of the Golden Bears football team and earned a bachelor's degree in sport management. He has served on the NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Committee from 2021-22, after a four-year stint on the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Committee -- including serving as the committee chair in the 2019-20 academic year.

Emberley is the treasurer of the Eastern Athletic Communications Association (East-Comm), and has served the NCAA as a site representative at numerous championship rounds, as well as on working groups both for the Division II Eligibility Center (2010) and in advance of the 2016 Division III portion of the annual Regional Rules Seminar. He received his master's of business administration in management and leadership from Dowling College in 2011.
