NEW YORK | The Skyline Conference released its weekly reports Tuesday morning (April 5), including its Player and Rookie of the Week selections, Honor Roll designees and statistical leaders.

Baseball Update (10-9, 5-3 Skyline) - Skyline report

The Rams went 3-1 in Skyline action, earning a split with visiting Manhattanville before sweeping past host Mount Saint Mary on Monday in a make-up twinbill.

Senior right-handed pitcher Stephen Clancy (Mineola, N.Y.) used 89 pitches (62 strikes) to toss a complete-game seven-hitter against Manhattanville in Saturday's opening matchup, striking out seven Knights in the 7-1 victory.

Head coach Keith Osik's FSC side plays host to Baruch in non-conference action Thursday at 4 p.m., before welcoming conference-leading St. Joseph's-Long Island (Saturday) and Yeshiva (Sunday) to Farmingdale in 12 noon doubleheaders this weekend.

 

Men's Lacrosse Update (7-1, 1-0 Skyline) - Skyline report

Head coach Sean Chamberlain's Rams opened Skyline play Saturday at Mount Saint Mary, using a 6-for-7 display on extra-man opportunities to capture a 15-5 triumph.

Senior attacker Terrence Haggerty (Centerport, N.Y.) continues to lead the Skyline in scoring (30 g, 18 a, 48 pts.), and registered an eight-point afternoon against the Knights with four goals and as many assists to earn the Skyline's Offensive Player of the Week recognition for the third time this season, including the last two accolades.

Freshman face-off specialist Antonio Kaminskey (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) repeated as the conference's Defensive Player of the Week, as the conference's leader in face-off percentage (.675) and ground balls (9.25/gm.) helped FSC control possession against Mount Saint Mary with an 18-of-21 (.857) display at the face-off "x" to go with a game-high 12 ground balls.

Skyline play continues for the Rams Saturday afternoon, when it travels to Patchogue for a noon start at St. Joseph's-Long Island.

 

Women's Lacrosse Update (4-6, 2-0 Skyline) - Skyline report

The Rams kicked off Skyline play with a pair of triumphs, winning Wednesday night at Mount Saint Mary (14-5) before downing Manhattanville (15-10) at home on Saturday afternoon.

Senior defender Anna Zaborowska (E. Patchogue, N.Y.), who leads the Skyline with 46 ground balls and 32 caused turnovers, helped the FSC defense to a 7.50 goals against average during the stretch by scooping 13 ground balls and causing nine turnovers. She jumped into the offense to net a pair of goals in each contest, while causing seven turnovers Saturday as the Rams pulled away for the home victory.

Junior attacker Athena Vogiatzis (Holtsville, N.Y.) scored eight goals over the two-game stretch, with three of her five coming in the deciding fourth period Saturday versus Manhattanville – including the tie-breaking marker less than two minutes into the frame.

Head coach Erin Calkins's team is back in Skyline play Tuesday night at St. Joseph's-Long Island (6 p.m. opening draw), before playing host to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Saturday at 1 p.m. in a rematch of the last three Skyline Conference championship finals.

 

Softball Update (11-2, 2-0 Skyline) - Skyline report

Head coach Liz Pennino's team earned a pair of five-inning, 8-0 victories to start Skyline action Saturday versus Old Westbury, pushing its winning streak to four games in the process.

Freshman Ava Shorr (No. Babylon, N.Y.) tossed her first-career no-hitter in Saturday's nightcap against the Panthers, scattering four walks while striking out three. She helped herself at the plate as well, hitting a bases-clearing double in the five-run third inning.

Two more Skyline twinbills await the Rams this weekend, with the Green and White playing host to Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday before traveling to Patchogue on Sunday to face St. Joseph's-Long Island. Both doubleheaders are scheduled to get underway at noon.

 

Men's Tennis Update (2-2, 1-0 Skyline) - Skyline report

The Rams kicked off spring-season competition this weekend with a 5-4 non-conference triumph Friday night against visiting Baruch, before registering a 9-0 decision to start Skyline play Saturday at St. Joseph's-Long Island.

Senior Mark Baker (Baldwin, N.Y.) was named Player of the Week by the Skyline, after going 2-0 in both No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles competition (with classmate Cooper Everett) across the weekend. Baker and Everett (Long Beach, N.Y.) did not lose a game across their two doubles matches, while Baker won an 8-7 (7-5) pro-set singles match Friday against Baruch's Abhinav Srivastava to help secure the team triumph for Farmingdale State.

Head coach Adam Waterhouse's side is back in action for a pair of Skyline matches this week, traveling to Yeshiva for a 5 p.m. first serve on Tuesday night before playing host to Purchase on Saturday at noon.

 

Outdoor Track and Field Update – Skyline Men's Report | Skyline Women's Report | NJAC Men's Report | NJAC Women's Report

Head coach Daniela Georgieva's Rams competed at Sunday's Coach Omeltchenko Invitational in Kings Point, N.Y., with a pair of FSC student-athletes recognized by the Skyline Conference for their performances.

On the women's side, senior Khadia Jenkins (Farmingdale, N.Y.) was named the Skyline's Field Athlete and Rookie of the Week, after winning the shot put (10.91m – fifth all-time at FSC), discus (26.37m – seventh) and hammer (38.62m – fifth) events, while placing second in the high jump (1.55m – fourth). Teammate Alycia Haynes (Adams Ctr., N.Y.) collected honor-roll kudos after winning the 1,500-meter run (5:11.77) by nearly 20 seconds.

In men's action, senior Joseph Stocken VI (Miller Place, N.Y.) picked up Skyline Track Athlete of the Week accolades after breaking the tape in both the 110-meter (17.44) and 400-meter (59.40) events. A pair of his teammates – freshmen Steven Grannis (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and Dominick LaMountain (Massapequa, N.Y.) – were cited on the honor roll for their field-event efforts. Grannis placed first in the hammer throw (36.57m), while LaMountain placed first and seventh in the javelin (40.02m) and shot put (9.00m), respectively.
