- Loonie named Defensive Player of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released its second spring weekly report on Monday, March 21st, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Men's Lacrosse Update (5-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The Rams posted a pair of non-conference wins over both Anna Maria (18-3) and SUNY New Paltz (13-9) last week.

Freshman goalkeeper Kevin Loonie (Lynbrook, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight week. He posted a 6.86 GAA and a .636 save percentage in 105 minutes of action. In the 18-3 win at Anna Maria, he stopped seven shots and followed with a 14-save effort in the 13-9 victory over SUNY New Paltz. 

Freshman attack Thomas Stock (Selden, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after leading the team in both goals and assists. He scored a game-high five goals and added two assists at Anna Maria and followed with a goal and an assist at home against SUNY New Paltz.

This week the men's lacrosse team will host non-conference opponent Alvernia on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

 

Softball Update (7-2, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The softball team posted a 7-2 mark during their Spring Break trip in Florida.

Sophomore catcher Lyndsey Shaw (Sayville, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Shaw posted a .385 average, with a team-leading six extra-base hits and an .846 slugging percentage in seven games for the Rams. Against NYU, she was 3-for-5 at the plate with a double, two runs scored and stolen base. Shaw followed with a 3-for-3 day with a solo home run and three runs scored against Edgewood. She went 1-for-4 with a HR, 2 RBI and run scored versus Rutgers-Camden. She reached base safely in all seven games.

This week FSC is scheduled to play three doubleheaders: Wednesday vs. Hunter @ 3:30 p.m., Thursday at Yeshiva @ 6:00 p.m. and Friday vs. New Paltz @ 3:00 p.m.

 

Baseball Update (5-6, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

Farmingdale State went 3-4 over their seven games at the RussMatt Invitational in Florida.

Freshman pitcher Philip Gerard (Patchogue, N.Y.) earned a spot on the Honor Roll as he earned the win against Keystone after tossing 6.1 innings of relief, allowing zero earned runs on six hits with nine strikeouts.

The Rams will play a pair of Skyline Conference doubleheaders this week: Saturday vs. Maritime @ noon and Sunday at Mount Saint Vincent @ 11:00 a.m.

 

Women's Lacrosse Update (2-4, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The women's lacrosse team split a pair of non-conference games in Florida with a 12-8 win over Mount Holyoke and an 11-2 loss versus Western Connecticut.

Sophomore attack Athena Vogiatzis (Holtsville, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. She scored a team-leading eight goals in FSC's two games. Vogiatzis tallied both of the Rams' goals in the loss to Western Connecticut and followed with a game-high six goals on eight shots in the win over Mount Holyoke.

This week FSC will play two non-conference road games: Wednesday at Montclair State @ 4:00 p.m. and Saturday at Kean @ 1:00 p.m.

 

Men's Tennis Update (0-0, 0-0 Skyline) 

The men's tennis team opens their spring schedule with a home match against Brooklyn College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

 

Outdoor Track Update

The outdoor track teams open the season on Saturday when they head to Galloway, N.J. for the Stockton Invite.

 

Men's Golf Update 

Farmingdale State has the week off and next will compete in the The Kiln Intercollegiate at Hawk Pointe Golf Club in Washington, N.J. on April 2nd and 3rd.
