FSC Athletics Spring Update #1

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released its first spring weekly report on Tuesday, March 8th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Men's Lacrosse Update (3-0, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The Rams scored six fourth-quarter goals as they earned a come-from-behind victory over Hartwick, 9-7, last week.

Senior attack Terrence Haggerty (Centerport, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Rams with five goals at Hartwick. Haggerty scored the game-tying tally with 10:40 remaining and the game-winner just 99 seconds later.

Freshman goalkeeper Kevin Loonie (Lynbrook, N.Y.) earned a spot on the Player of the Week honor roll after stopping a career-best 17 shots in the non-conference victory.

This week, Farmingdale State will play host to non-conference opponent DeSales on Wednesday, March 9th at 5:00 p.m.

 

Baseball Update (2-2, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report 

The baseball team picked up two extra-inning, walk-off victories in their doubleheader versus Keene State last week.

Freshman outfielder Justin DiMartino (Bethpage, N.Y.) was tabbed the Skyline Conference Rooke of the Week. DiMartino went 3-for-5 at the dish (.600) over the pair of walk-off wins, including 2-for-4 in the nightcap with the game-winning RBI single.

Junior pitcher Stephen Clancy (Mineola, N.Y.) was named to the Pitcher of the Week Honor Roll after earning a relief victory in Saturday's opening contest, allowing just one hit while fanning six over the seventh, eighth and ninth innings.

FSC next will travel to Florida for the RussMatt Invitational. The Rams will play the first games of their annual spring trip on Friday, March 11th when they take on Fontbonne at 2:45 p.m. and Salve Regina at 5:45 p.m.

 

Women's Lacrosse Update (1-2, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

Farmingdale State was 1-1 in non-conference action last week, falling to New Paltz, 13-9, before earning a win at Ramapo, 10-9.

Freshman goalkeeper Ronnie Reilly (Oceanside, N.Y.) earned Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week honors. Reilly posted a .551 save percentage (11.00 GAA, 27 saves) in the Rams' 1-1 week, stopping 14 shots Wednesday against New Paltz, before backstopping FSC to the victory Saturday against Ramapo with a 13-save showing.

Sophomore midfielder Megan Diamond (Dix Hills, N.Y.) was tabbed to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Diamond picked up eight points (5 g, 3 a) and 12 draw controls in the two games last week.

The women's lacrosse team will play a pair of non-conference games this week: Wednesday at Montclair State @ 4:00 p.m. and Friday vs. Oneonta @ 3:00 p.m.

 

Softball Update (0-0, 0-0 Skyline)

FSC will open their 2022 season on Sunday, March 13th at The Spring Games in Florida. The softball team will play 10 games during their spring break trip before returning home to play Hunter College on March 23rd.

 

Men's Tennis Update (0-0, 0-0 Skyline) 

The men's tennis team opens their spring schedule with a home match against Brooklyn College on March 26th.

 

Men's Golf Update 

The Rams will head down to Orange County National Golf Course in Winter Garden, Florida for their spring trip on Saturday, March 12th. They open their season on April 2nd with their first match at The Kiln Intercollegiate tournament. 

 

Outdoor Track Update

The outdoor track teams will open the year on March 26th when they head to Galloway, N.J. for the Stockton Invite.
