FSC Athletics Winter Update #11

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #11 on Monday, February 14th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball. The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) released their Track, Field and Rookie Athletes of the Week for men's and women's indoor track.

Men's Basketball Update (16-7, 12-2 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The men's basketball team earned a pair of Skyline victories last week to increase their winning streak to eight. The Rams picked up wins over St. Joseph's-Long Island, 71-60, and Mount Saint Vincent, 73-67.

Sophomore guard Corey Powell (Valley Stream, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Powell averaged 15 points per game while shooting 12-of-23 from the field in a 2-0 week for the Rams.

FSC plays two games this week to end their regular season schedule: Tuesday at St. Joseph's-Brooklyn @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. Old Westbury @1:00 p.m.

 

Women's Basketball Update (10-9, 8-8 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

Farmingdale State fell to Mount Saint Mary, 81-34, before defeating St. Joseph's-Long Island, 93-84, in a 1-1 Skyline week.

The Rams will play four conference games this week to close out the regular season: Tuesday at St. Joseph's-Brooklyn @ 5:00 p.m., Thursday at St. Joseph's-Long Island @ 7:00 p.m., Saturday at Sarah Lawrence @ 2:00 p.m. and Sunday vs. Old Westbury @ 1:00 p.m.

 

Indoor Track Update - Women's Weekly Report  Men's Weekly Report

The Rams competed at the Fastrack National Invitational last week.

Sophomore Morris Johnson (Binghamton, N.Y.) led the way for the men with a fifth place finish out of 80 competitors in the 60m with a time of 7.22. Johnson was the top-Division III finisher in the event.

For the women, sophomore Alycia Haynes (Adams Center, N.Y.) took fourth in the mile run with a personal best time of 5:35.83 and now sits at #6 on the FSC All-Time List. Freshman Khadia Jenkins (Farmingdale, N.Y.) notched a 14th place finish out of 57 in the shot put with a personal best throw of 11.69m (38' 4.25") and now ranks third all-time at Farmingdale State.

The indoor track teams next will compete in the NJAC Championships at Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. on Monday, February 21st.
