New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #9 on Monday, January 31st, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball. The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) released their Track, Field and Rookie Athletes of the Week for men's and women's indoor track.
Men's Basketball Update (12-7, 8-2 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report
Farmingdale State earned two Skyline wins over Manhattanville, 63-62, and Mount Saint Mary, 76-55, last week to improve to 8-2 in the conference.
Sophomore guard Nick Hurowitz (Mount Sinai, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season. Hurowitz guided the Rams to a 2-0 Skyline week with averages of 15.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per effort. He registered a 16-point, 12-carom double-double in Wednesday's one-point triumph at Manhattanville. Added 14 points in just 22 minutes of action Sunday versus Mount Saint Mary.
The Rams will play a pair of Skyline games this week: Tuesday vs. Sarah Lawrence @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at #6 Yeshiva @ 8:00 p.m.
Women's Basketball Update (8-7, 6-6 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report
The women's basketball team fell to Mount Saint Mary, 82-74, in their only game last week.
This week the Rams will play three conference games: Tuesday at Manhattanville @ 6:00 p.m., Thursday at Yeshiva (at Mount Saint Vincent) @ 8:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. Old Westbury @ 11:00 a.m.
Indoor Track Update - Women's Weekly Report Men's Weekly Report
The indoor track teams competed at the University at Albany Great Dane Classic at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex last week.
Freshman Khadia Jenkins (Farmingdale, N.Y.) moved into third all-time at FSC in the weight throw (13.52m) and fourth for the shot put (11.58m).
Farmingdale State has the week off and next will compete in the Fastrack National Invitational at Ocean Breeze on Friday, February 11th.
