Santiago named Head Women's Volleyball Coach at Iona
Farmingdale, N.Y. - Patric Santiago, who was the head women's volleyball coach at Farmingdale State for the past seven years, has accepted the same position at Division I Iona College. Santiago led the Rams to the playoffs in each of the last six seasons and held a 39-25 record in the Skyline Conference over his seven years.

"I would like to thank everyone at Farmingdale State for an amazing experience. Specifically, I would like to thank Mike Harrington for the opportunity to coach and for the support he has given our programs; and Tom Azzara for providing guidance to all our coaches and student-athletes. It has been a pleasure to work with, and for, such a wonderful staff both past and present at Farmingdale.
To the student-athletes it has been my privilege to coach, I will never be able to thank you enough for the lessons you have taught me and the experiences we've had. I am proud of all our athletes and continue to be inspired by the struggles they overcome before a single point is played, as well as what they do on the court and in the classroom. Santiago, a 2006 graduate of Farmingdale State College, was a four-sport athlete competing in soccer, golf, indoor and outdoor track. To date, he is the only student-athlete to ever compete in four sports at FSC.
Academically, Santiago graduated with a GPA of 3.96 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. He was named an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American in 2006 and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa as well as the Vice President of our Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He was the first student-athlete at Farmingdale State to receive the Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence in 2005, was a two-time recipient of the Chancellor's Scholar-Athlete Award and a two-time Farmingdale State Male Athlete of the Year. Santiago also received the 2006 ECAC Robbins Scholar-Athlete Award, which is given annually to just one male and one female student-athlete throughout Divisions I, II and III.
Last season the Gaels were 10-20 overall and posted a 7-11 record in the MAAC.
