Associate Head Coach: Rich Hume (8th season)

Rich Hume started at the College in 1982 in the Division of Administration & Finance in the Student Accounts Office, eventually becoming the College Controller before retiring in 2015.  Rich always had a strong connection to the Athletics Department, having been the Assistant Women’s Basketball coach from 1991 through 1999 as well as serving as the chair of the Intercollegiate Athletics Board (IAB) from 2002 through his retirement in 2015.  He continues currently as a member of the IAB. 

Upon his retirement in 2015 he was named as the Assistant Men & Women’s tennis coach, serving alongside Coach Adam Waterhouse.  He was named as the Associate Head Coach as of the start of the 2021-22 season.

Rich comes from a tennis family, and has had a long tennis background, including serving as President of the Tennis Association of Farmingdale (a USTA community service organization) since 2015.  He also participates in USTA team tennis, and has been a member of several teams that have competed at the National Championships for the USTA.

Rich resides in Lindenhurst with his wife, Janet, is the father of Michael and Jessica, and also the proud grandfather of two granddaughters, Josephine and Coraline.
