WAYNESBORO, PA - Farmingdale State junior Brad Castaldy (Dix Hills, N.Y.) fired a career-low round of 68 (minus-4) in Sunday's final round of the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic at Waynesboro Country Club (Par 72, 6,596-yard).
Castaldy tied the school record for lowest round, as well as lowest round in relation to par. He matched teammate Mackenzie Kim (East Quogue, N.Y.) who accomplished the same feat earlier this season.
As a team, FSC shot a tournament-low round of 288 (even par) in the rain and windy conditions, which set a program single-round record. The Rams finished with a two-day total of 611 and came in 12th place out of 21 teams.
Gettysburg captured the team title with a total of 589 (plus-13).
Kim, who shot a 71 (minus-1) on Sunday, led Farmingdale State with a two-day score of 151 (plus-7) and was tied for 28th, individually, out of 104 competitors.
Junior Chris Iguchi (Centereach, N.Y.) followed a 78 on day one with a 74 this afternoon and placed tied for 34th.
Castaldy (86-68-154) and junior Liam Miller (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) (79-75-154) tied for 49th place overall.
McDaniel's Ryan McGarry earned medalist honors as he shot an even par 72 on Sunday and finished with a minus-3, 141 two-day score.
The men's golf team will next head to Riverview Country Club in Easton, Pa. to compete in The Melee on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 15-16.
