Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's golf team fired a 290 (+10) in Sunday's final round for a two-day total of 584 at the inaugural George Cangero Invitational at Bethpage State Park - Red Course (par 70, 7,092 yards).
The Rams finished in fourth place, with New York University (576) coming in third.
The Invitational, which honored the late FSC golf coach, was won by St. Thomas Aquinas, who shot a tournament-record 566 over 36 holes.
Franklin & Marshall (571), who set the one-day tournament-record on Saturday with a team score of 280, was the runner-up.
FSC junior Chris Iguchi (Centereach, N.Y.) fired a career-low round of 69 on Sunday for a two-day total of 143 and an eighth place finish.
Brad Castaldy (Dix Hills, N.Y.) followed his 72 on Saturday with a 73 in the final round for a total of 143 (T-11th place).
Junior Mackenzie Kim (East Quogue, N.Y.) (75-72-147) and freshman James Quinlan (Poughquag, N.Y.) (73-78-151) came in 16th and 29th, respectively, for Farmingdale State.
F&M's Shane Lawler (Malverne, Pa.) earned medalist honors, as he followed his 67 in round one with a 69 on Sunday for a 4-under 136.
Djaia Darrason (Noumea, New Caledonia) (138) of St. Thomas Aquinas came in second place individually after firing a tournament-low round of 66 on Sunday.
Following a week off, Farmingdale State will travel to Waynesboro, Pennsylvania for the Mason-Dixon Collegiate on October 1st and 2nd.
