FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | Junior Brad Castaldy (Dix Hills, N.Y.) shot a plus-2 round of 72 Saturday afternoon at Bethpage State Park's Red Course (par 70, 7,092 yards), helping the Farmingdale State College golf team to a score of 294 (plus-14) which has the Rams in fourth place at the inaugural, 10-team George Cangero Invitational.

The Invitational, named for the late FSC golf coach, wraps up Sunday morning with the second and final 18-hole round, with the first golfers slated to tee off at 11 a.m.

Franklin & Marshall leads after combining for an even-par score of 280, just one shot ahead of Division II-member St. Thomas Aquinas College. New York University (plus-8, 288) sits in third, with Farmingdale State and Arcadia University (plus-15, 295) rounding out the top-five.

Castaldy's plus-2 round sits in a tie for ninth place individually, while freshman James Quinlan (Poughquag, N.Y.) is one shot behind in a 12th-place tie. Juniors Chris Iguchi (Centereach, N.Y.) and Mackenzie Kim (E. Quogue, N.Y.) rounded out the Rams' top-four scorers at plus-4 and plus-5, respectively.
