Two More ECAC Qualifiers at Seton Hall Games

Colleen Smith (Huntington Station, NY/Copiague) placed 5th in the 60m Hurdles in 10.61 this weekend while competing in the Seton Hall Games in South Orange, NJ. She ran 10.46 in the trials. Ivory Elder (Dix Hills, NY/HHH West) won her heat of the 200m in a season best 27.77 and placed 8th overall.

For the men's team, Farmingdale State sophomores Reggie Routier (Freeport, NY/Freeport) and Reuben Hairston (Freeport, NY/Freeport) qualified for the Indoor Track ECAC Championships. The ECAC's are held on March 3rd and 4th at Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA.

Routier qualified in the triple jump, placing second in 43' ¼" (13.11m). He also placed second in the 60m High Hurdles in 8.83 and led off the third place 4x400m Relay. Hairston won the Long Jump in 22' 2 ¼" (6.76m) to earn his qualifying mark.

Farmingdale high jumpers swept the top 3 places led by junior Akil Williams (Jamaica, NY/August Martin) at 6'4" (1.92m). Second place went to freshman Andrew Williams (Kingston, NY/Kingston) in a personal best 6'2" (1.87m). Third place went to Ian Lovergie (Castle Point, NY/Beacon) also at 6'2" (1.87m). Akil's jump equals his ECAC Qualifying earned last week.

Shane Smith: 2nd place; 500m, 1:09.43

Mike Landi: 4th place; 1 mile, 4:43.43

Earl Noel: 3rd place; 60m High Hurdles, 8.96

Jason Chin-Chitty: 4th place; Triple Jump, 41'4 ¼" (12.61m)

Jason Chin-Chitty: 6th place; Long Jump, 19'8" (5.99m)

Patric Santiago: 5th place; Triple Jump, 40'7" (12.36m)

Andrew Williams: 7th place; Triple Jump, 39'10" (12.15m)

4x400m Relay: 3rd place; Routier, Smith, Chin-Chitty and Akil Williams, 3:30.96
