Women's Tennis Earns Shutout Victory at Manhattanville

PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team traveled to Manhattanville College for a Skyline Conference match on Saturday afternoon and earned a 9-0 shutout win. 

FSC (6-4, 2-0 Skyline) rolled through doubles as the top pairing of senior Anastasia Hoffman (Massapequa, N.Y.) and freshman Amanda Jones (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) defeated Bea Pretnar and Ella Brown, 8-2.

Sophomore Lien Collings (Merrick, N.Y.) and freshman MacKenzie Gisler (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) took second doubles, 8-1, over Victoria Szele and Alana Anderson.

Seniors Susana Pariona (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and Mia Murrell (Shirley, N.Y.) won at #3 doubles, 8-1, against Sara King and Ally Petricca.

The Rams continued to cruise through singles play as Hoffman defeated Pretnar, 6-3, 6-0, at top-flight singles and Collings captured the second slot over Szele, 6-2, 6-1.

Jones (6-3, 6-2), Gisler (6-3, retired), freshman Heather McGullam (Hauppauge, N.Y.) (6-1, 6-2) and freshman Mikayla DeMaria (West Babylon, N.Y.) (6-4, 6-1) won their matches in the third through sixth positions to clinch the 9-0 victory for FSC.

The women's tennis team is back in action tomorrow, Sunday, October 9th as they travel to play Purchase College at 10:00 a.m.
