Women's Tennis Drops Match at Cortland

CORTLAND, N.Y. | The freshmen tandem of Amanda Jones (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) and MacKenzie Gisler (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) combined for a win at the No. 2 doubles flight Sunday afternoon for the Farmingdale State College women's tennis team, which fell by an 8-1 decision at host SUNY Cortland.

Jones and Gisler moved to 7-2 on the season, which is the best doubles mark on the Rams (5-4) thus far this fall, with an 8-5 victory over the Red Dragons' (5-3) Logan Streety and Karlie Cubino.

In singles play, Gisler and sophomore Lien Collings (Merrick, N.Y.) played their opponents to third-set super-tiebreakers at the Nos. 4 and 2 flights, respectively.

Head coach Adam Waterhouse's FSC team is back in action Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 4), when it plays host to John Jay College in non-conference action at 4:30 p.m.
