FSC Rolls Past Sarah Lawrence on Senior Day

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team hosted Skyline opponent Sarah Lawrence this afternoon on senior day and won, 5-0. With the victory, FSC improved to 13-3-2 overall and a perfect 7-0 in conference play. 

Prior to the start of the game, seniors Alyssa Gaynor (East Northport, N.Y.), Rae-Anne Guglielmo (West Babylon, N.Y.), Allison Khare (Deer Park, N.Y.), Erin Purack (Farmingdale, N.Y.), Jordan Martin (Lecanto, Fla.), Annamaria Merante (Holtsville, N.Y.), Alyssa Parrotta (Centereach, N.Y.) and Frankie Wolf (Islip, N.Y.) were each honored.

Less than six minutes into the game, FSC used a Guglielmo score as both Merante and Khare tallied assists to go out in front, 1-0. The Rams extended the advantage to 2-0 in the 11th minute after Parrotta netted the pass from Khare. Farmingdale State took their 2-0 lead into the break after controlling the first half and outshooting the Gryphons (6-7, 4-4) 20-0.

Early in the second half, Guglielmo notched her second goal of the afternoon off the pass by sophomore midfielder Brittney Starzee (Babylon, N.Y.) to put FSC up by three. The Rams added scores by both sophomore midfielder Meagan Murdocco (North Babylon, N.Y.) and junior midfielder Edasia Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.) to cap off the 5-0 senior day victory.

Guglielmo finished with a career-high five points on two goals and an assist, while Khare recorded a game-high three assists. Farmingdale State held Sarah Lawrence without a shot attempt in the game.

The Rams next will head to Mount Saint Vincent for a Skyline Conference game on Monday, October 22nd at 4:00 p.m.
