Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team hosted non-conference opponent NYU this evening and the game ended in a 0-0 double overtime tie.

In an evenly matched scoreless first half, both Farmingdale State (12-3-2) and NYU (7-4-3) attempted three shots. The Violets had 2-of-3 shots on goal, while the Rams only recorded one on goal in the half. FSC senior forward Allison Khare (Deer Park, N.Y.) nearly put the Rams on the scoreboard with 9:02 left to play in the first with a shot that went just high of the net.

With just under 21 minutes left in regulation, Khare's shot from 10 yards out was saved by sophomore goalkeeper Meghan Marhan (Glen Ridge, N.J.) to keep the game even at 0-0. NYU freshman midfielder Nikki Lee (Hillsborough, Calif.) responded with a shot on goal in the 76th minute but was unable to score as FSC junior goalkeeper Daniella Ford (Elmont, N.Y.) tallied the save.

Neither team would score over the final minutes of regulation as the game headed to overtime.

After a scoreless first OT, each team attempted a pair of shots in double overtime but were unable to find the net. Farmingdale State's Ford finished the night with six saves, while Marhan stopped five shots for NYU.

FSC next will host Sarah Lawrence in conference game on Saturday, October 20th at 2:30 p.m. on Senior Day. Prior to the start of Saturday's game, Alyssa Gaynor, Rae-Anne Guglielmo, Allison Khare, Erin Purack, Jordan Martin, Annamaria Merante, Alyssa Parrotta and Frankie Wolf will each be honored for Senior Day.
