Women's Soccer Falls in OT at #2 Williams

Williamstown, Mass. - With 2:53 left to play in overtime, sophomore forward Sydney Jones (Boca Raton, Fla.) scored the game-winning goal for the second-ranked Eph's of Williams College. The FSC women's soccer team fell to 8-3-1, while Williams, the defending NCAA Champions, remained unbeaten and are 9-0-1.

In a scoreless first half, Williams out shot the Rams, 8-4, as FSC junior goalkeeper Daniella Ford (Elmont, N.Y.) tallied four saves.

Over the opening 24:13 of the second half, Ford stopped five shots by the Eph's to keep game tied at 0-0. In the 87th and 88th minute, Williams took two shots but were unable to find the net as the game headed to overtime.

With 3:18 left on the clock in OT, Williams' senior forward Sarah Hollinger's (Essex Fells, N.J.) shot was saved by Ford. Only 25 seconds later, Jones scored the game-winner on her eighth goal of the season, leading the Eph's to the 1-0 win.

Ford finished the afternoon with a season-high 10 saves, while senior Olivia Barnhill (New York, N.Y.) had one save for Williams.

FSC next will play host #19 Swarthmore in a non-conference game tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
