Rams Cruise Past St. Joe's-Brooklyn in Skyline Matchup

Brooklyn, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team improved to 2-0 in Skyline Conference play after a 7-0 victory at St. Joseph's-Brooklyn on Monday night. The Rams scored twice in the first half and added five second half goals in the win.

Senior midfielder Allison Khare (Deer Park, N.Y.) opened the scoring for FSC (7-2-1) in the 23rd minute as she netted the pass from Alyssa Parrotta (Centereach, N.Y.). Just over 10 minutes later, the Rams went on top 2-0 after junior midfielder Edasia Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.) received Olympia Lewis's (Brentwood, N.Y.) pass from 18 yards out and dribbled around the goalie to score in the right side of the net. In a first half controlled by Farmingdale State, the Rams outshot St. Joe's-Brooklyn (5-6, 2-2) 22-1 and held a 3-0 corner kick advantage.

Only 1:44 after the break, FSC went ahead 3-0 as Parrotta converted the cross in front by sophomore midfielder Brittney Starzee (Babylon, N.Y.). After a goal by freshman forward Julissa Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.), the Rams followed with scores from Tara Lyons (Wantagh, N.Y.) and Meagan Murdocco (North Babylon, N.Y.) to extend the lead to 6-0 with 34:05 left on the clock. The game's final goal was scored by sophomore midfielder Abrielle Ortiz (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) in the 83rd minute as Farmingdale State closed out the 7-0 road win.

The FSC women's soccer team next will travel to Purchase for a conference game on Wednesday, October 3rd at 6:00 p.m.
