Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team squared off against SUNY Geneseo in a non-conference game this afternoon and was defeated, 3-0.

Only 4:40 into the contest, the Knights (3-2-1) used a score from junior forward Domenica Piccoli (East Northport, N.Y.) off the pass from junior midfielder Grace Dunnigan (Pittsford, N.Y.) to take an early 1-0 advantage.

FSC (4-2-1) threatened in the 29th minute as a corner kick by Rams sophomore midfielder Meagan Murdocco (North Babylon, N.Y.) led to a shot by freshman forward Olympia Lewis (Brentwood, N.Y.) that was saved by Geneseo senior goalkeeper Emily Janiszewski (Buffalo, N.Y.). Farmingdale State sophomore midfielder Molly Dowd (Bay Shore, N.Y.) would gather the rebound for a shot but a Geneseo defender knocked the ball away from the open net to maintain the 1-0 lead.

The Rams held a 7-6 shot advantage and 2-1 corner kick advantage but trailed 1-0 at the break.

Just over nine minutes into the second half, the Knights extended their lead to 2-0 on an unassisted score from freshman midfielder Holly Moore (Delmar, N.Y.).

In the 73rd minute, Geneseo freshman Hannah Sullivan (Marlboro, N.Y.) set up freshman Nicole Bell (Victor, N.Y.) for a goal to put the Knights ahead 3-0. Geneseo held the Rams to only one shot attempt the rest of the way as they capped off the 3-0 shutout.

FSC junior goalkeeper Daniella Ford (Elmont, N.Y.) stopped a season-high eight shots in the loss.

The Rams next travel to Western Connecticut State for a non-conference game on Wednesday, September 19th at 6:00 p.m.
