Farmingdale State - 2, Trinity (Conn.) - 1

Farmingdale, N.Y. - Tied at 1-1 with 26 seconds left to play, FSC senior defender Jordan Martin (Lecanto, Fla.) scored the game-winning goal off the feed from junior forward Medina Mulic (Ridgewood, N.Y.) to lead the Farmingdale State women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Trinity (Conn.) College this evening. The Rams improved to 3-0, while the Bantams fell in their season-opener and are now 0-1.

FSC controlled the game early, tallying three shots and three corner kicks within the first 18 minutes. At 19:20, a corner kick by FSC senior midfielder Alyssa Parrotta (Centereach, N.Y.) led to a shot in front for junior midfielder Tara Lyons (Wantagh, N.Y.) who recorded the lone goal of the first half.

The Bantams tied the game only 3:37 into the second half as a cross in front by sophomore Maeve Rabbitt (Concord, Mass.) allowed freshman Whitney Hoban (Winnetka, Ill.) to chip it over to sophomore Cameron Beath (Kennebunk, Maine) for the goal.

The game remained 1-1 until the final minute when Mulic gathered the loose ball and setup Martin for the game-winner to give Farmingdale State the 2-1 non-conference victory.

FSC junior goalkeeper Daniella Ford (Elmont, N.Y.) made five saves to earn her third win of the season. Bantam sophomore goalie Taylor O'Connor (Danvers, Mass.) stopped five shots in defeat.

The Rams next travel to play non-conference opponent Kean University (@ Misericordia) on Saturday, September 8th at 4:00 p.m.
