Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team fell 1-0 in today's non-conference game to #4 ranked William Smith. The Rams dropped to 10-6-2 overall, while the Herons improved to 14-1.

William Smith opened the scoring in the 23rd minute as junior forwards Sarah Olick-Sutphen (Manlius, N.Y.) and Megan Richard (Southwick, Mass.) set up junior midfielder Megan Barwick (Seattle, Wash.) in front for the tap-in.

With 2:01 remaining in regulation, Farmingdale State freshman forward Brittney Starzee (Babylon, N.Y.) blasted a shot from the top of the box, stopped by a diving Veronica Romines (San Diego, Calif.) to preserve the eventual 1-0 victory.

The game was a defensive battle with William Smith holding the advantage in shots, 6-3. Romines made two saves for the win, while sophomore goalkeeper Daniella Ford (Elmont, N.Y.) stopped four shots in defeat.

The Rams now closeout their regular-season schedule with a Skyline Conference game at Mount Saint Mary College on Wednesday, October 25th at 5:00 p.m.
