Newark, N.J. - Senior forward Taylor Howard (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) scored two goals in the first three minutes of the game and one goal early in the second half to tally her second hat trick of the season as the Farmingdale State women's soccer team defeated conference opponent Yeshiva University, 9-0, this afternoon. FSC improves to 7-0 in Skyline play and 9-5-2 overall, while the Maccabees drop to 0-6 in the conference and 1-7 overall.
After Howard scored a pair of early goals to put the Rams up, 2-0, freshman midfielder Brittney Starzee (Babylon, N.Y.) recorded her sixth goal of the season on a header off the cross from junior midfielder Alyssa Parrotta (Centereach, N.Y.) to give FSC a 3-0 advantage.
The Rams fourth goal came in the 24th minute as freshman midfielder Kristen Shine (Manorville, N.Y.) sent the ball to sophomore midfielder Edasia Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.) who used a one-touch pass to set up junior midfielder Rae-Anne Guglielmo (West Babylon, N.Y.) for the goal.
Guglielmo recorded her third and fourth points of the half as she set up both Martinez and freshman forward Alexis Iseminger (Fayetteville, N.C.) for goals in the 27th and 32nd minutes, respectively, to send the Rams into the break leading, 6-0.
FSC produced 28 shots and 12 corner kicks in the first half.
Howard scored her third goal of the game only 6:56 into the second half as sophomore defender Tara Lyons (Wantagh, N.Y.) sent a cross from the right side for the tip in to give Farmingdale State a 7-0 advantage.
Over the final 38:04 of the game, Rams junior defender Alyssa Gaynor (East Northport, N.Y.) and Shine each recorded their first collegiate goals as FSC earned the 9-0 conference victory.
Martinez and Guglielmo each tallied one goal and two assists in the win.
Freshman goalkeeper Rivka Lindenblatt (Atlanta, GA) stopped 19 shots for the Maccabees.
The Rams next play host to non-conference opponent #25 Western Connecticut State on Wednesday, October 18th at 7:00 p.m.
