Rams Earn Senior Day Victory Over St. Joe's-LI

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team earned an 8-2 Skyline Conference victory this afternoon over St. Joseph's-LI. Prior to today's game, Taylor Howard (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and Aracely Romero (Bay Shore, N.Y.) were each honored for senior day.

Only 6:41 into the contest, FSC (8-5-2, 6-0) opened the scoring on an unassisted goal from freshman defender Alexandra Johnson (Commack, N.Y.). After a goal by freshman midfielder Cailyn Demarinis (Deer Park, N.Y.) extended the Farmingdale State advantage to 2-0, freshman midfielder Brittney Starzee (Babylon, N.Y.) tallied a score to put the Rams on top, 3-0, with 15:18 left in the first.

Leading 3-1 with 4:51 remaining in the half, Farmingdale State's Rae-Anne Guglielmo (West Babylon, N.Y.) recorded an unassisted goal to bring the advantage back to three. The final two scores of the first half came on an Abrielle Ortiz (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) penalty kick and an unassisted goal from sophomore midfielder Edasia Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.) as the Rams took a 6-1 lead into the break.

The Rams outscored the Golden Eagles 2-1 in the second half as Howard and junior midfielder Allison Khare (Deer Park, N.Y.) scored for Farmingdale State and senior midfielder Kristin Carroll (Patchogue, N.Y.) netted a goal for St. Joe's-LI (8-6, 4-2)

The Rams next will square off against Yeshiva at Rutgers-Newark on Sunday, October 15th at 4:00 p.m.
