FSC Defeats Maritime; Improves to 5-0 in Skyline

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team defeated Maritime College this afternoon, 4-0, and improved to 5-0 in the Skyline and 7-5-2 overall.

The Rams got on the board early as senior forward Taylor Howard (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) scored off the cross from freshman forward Miranda Ozimek (Centerport, N.Y.) just over three minutes into the game.

In the 31st minute, another cross in front, this time by sophomore midfielder Edasia Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.), led to a header from freshman forward Cristina Ferrara (Massapequa, N.Y.) to give the Rams a 2-0 lead. The Rams outshot the Privateers (4-6-1, 1-4) 20-0 in the first half.

Farmingdale State increased the advantage to 3-0 at the 58:57 mark as Ozimek used a streak down the right side of the field to beat the defender for the breakaway and shot from 15 yards out.

FSC scored their fourth and final goal off a perfect corner kick by sophomore midfielder Medina Mulic (Ridgewood, N.Y.) and header from junior midfielder Allison Khare (Deer Park, N.Y.) in the 67th minute. Ozimek and Khare each finished the game with a goal and an assist.

The Rams held the Privateers without a shot in the victory.

Junior goalkeeper Cammie Havens (Point Pleasant, N.J.) totaled 11 saves for Maritime.

Farmingdale State next hosts conference opponent St. Joseph's-LI on Saturday, October 14th at 12:00 p.m.
