Ozimek Scores Pair as Rams Defeat CMSV in Skyline Opener

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team, led by freshman forward Miranda Ozimek (Centerport, N.Y.), earned a 2-0 victory over The College of Mount Saint Vincent this afternoon in their Skyline Conference opener. FSC improved to 3-4-2 overall, while the Dolphins dropped to 2-5, 1-1.

In a scoreless first half, Farmingdale State out shot Mount Saint Vincent, 14-1, but were unable to find the net. Ozimek broke the scoreless tie in the 66th minute as she connected from 15 yards out off the long pass down the middle by freshman midfielder Cailyn Demarinis (Deer Park, N.Y.). With 11:14 remaining, Ozimek tallied her second and the games final goal as the Rams capped off the 2-0 victory.

Ozimek is tied with freshman midfielder Brittney Starzee (Babylon, N.Y.) and sophomore midfielder Edasia Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.) for the team-high in goals this season with two.

FSC sophomore goalkeeper Daniella Ford (Elmont, N.Y.) recorded four saves in the shutout.

The Farmingdale State women's soccer team next will travel to Old Westbury for a conference game on Saturday, September 30th at noon.
