Scranton - 1, Farmingdale State - 0 F/2OT

Farmingdale, N.Y. - After a Scranton shot hit the post with 1:29 remaining in the second overtime, junior midfielder Brittany Uricchio (Glastonbury, Conn.) gathered the rebound and shot it past Rams sophomore goalkeeper Daniella Ford (Elmont, N.Y.) for the 1-0 victory in today's non-conference women's soccer match. The Royals improved to 4-2 on the year, while the Rams fall to 2-3-1.

Scranton recorded two shots on goal in the first half, which were both stopped by Ford. In the 28th minute of action, Ford made a diving save on Uricchio's shot from five yards out. Less than a minute later, a corner kick by freshman forward Mazie Stiles (Nyack, N.Y.) led to a shot by junior forward Jamie Hreniuk (West Caldwell, N.J.) and Ford's second save of the half.

Less than four minutes after the break, Ford tallied three saves, including stopping back-to-back shots from Uricchio and senior forward Kelly Pompey (South Abington Township, Penn.) at the 48:34 mark.

After each team totaled just one shot on goal in the first overtime, Uricchio's game-winner in the second sent the Royals home with the 1-0 win.

Ford produced an impressive 10 saves on the day, while Scranton junior goalkeeper Colleen Berry (Ridgewood, N.J.) had five saves in the shutout.

The Rams are back at it tomorrow, Sunday, September 17th as they host non-conference opponent #15 Geneseo at 11:00 a.m.
