Dallas, Penn. - Farmingdale State senior forward Taylor Howard (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and sophomore midfielder Edasia Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.) each scored a goal in the final game of the Misericordia Tournament this afternoon against Ithaca College. With the 2-1, victory the Rams improve to 2-2-1 on the season, while the Bombers fall to 1-3.

FSC controlled the game early, outshooting Ithaca 5-2 in the first 25:46. A pair of corner kicks by Farmingdale State sophomore forward Medina Mulic (Ridgewood, N.Y.) led to Howard's unassisted goal to give the Rams the 1-0 edge in the 28th minute.

After a save by FSC sophomore goalkeeper Daniella Ford (Elmont, N.Y.) just 1:45 into the second half, the Rams fired off four consecutive shots, the final being Martinez's from 12 yards out to put Farmingdale State up 2-0.

Junior defender Shannon McMillan (Acton, Mass.) added a late goal for Ithaca, but it was not enough as the Rams earned their first win over the Bombers in program history. 

Ford totaled six saves in the win, while Howard and Martinez had two points each.

The Rams next play non-conference opponent Scranton for their home opener on Saturday, September 16th at 1:00 p.m.
