#15 McDaniel - 4, Farmingdale State - 1

Westminster, Md. - In the First Round of the 2016 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship, Farmingdale State traveled to McDaniel College on Saturday and fell, 4-1.

The Rams (11-9-3), who were making their ninth all-time appearance in the NCAA's, nearly struck first in the 7th minute on a shot by Alexandria Tudisco (Massapequa, N.Y.) but a leaping save by McDaniel goalkeeper Sarah McDonald (Yardley, Pa.) kept the game tied at 0-0.

In the 24th minute of action, the Green Terror (17-2-1) took a 1-0 lead on a score from junior forward Katie Kirschenmann (Damascus, Md.). With 6:08 left to play in the first half, McDaniel increased the advantage to 2-0 after freshman forward Allie Titus (Frederick, Md.) scored in front off Annie Marshall's (Ijamsville, Md.) corner kick from the right side.

Only 1:27 after halftime, Farmingdale State used a goal by senior midfielder Amanda Khare (Deer Park, N.Y.) off the feed from Tudisco to cut the deficit to 2-1.

The Green Terror answered with an unassisted goal on a 35-yard free-kick from junior midfielder Abby Keen (Salisbury, Md.) to regain a two-score lead. McDaniel's Lindsey Farrell (Towson, Md.) added the final goal of the game less than six minutes later to cap off the 4-1 First Round victory.

The Green Terror advance to face Connecticut College in the Second Round on Sunday.
