Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Rams scored four goals in the first half en route to the 5-2 conference victory over Mount Saint Mary this afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y. With today's win, the Farmingdale State women's soccer team improved to 5-6-3 overall and 5-0 in Skyline action.

Farmingdale State struck quickly only 6:33 into the game when freshman midfielder Edasia Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.) converted a through pass from sophomore defender Alyssa Gaynor (East Northport, N.Y.). The Knights (4-7, 3-2) tied the game at 1-1 just 8:56 later on a score from junior midfielder Allison Jones (Merrick, N.Y.) off Bridget McKeever's (Wallkill, N.Y.) pass up the middle.

The Rams regained the lead midway through the first half on a Taylor Howard (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) shot from 35 yards out to the top right corner of the net. FSC took a two-goal advantage, 3-1, only 1:25 later after senior midfielder Amanda Khare (Deer Park, N.Y.) netted a header off the long field cross by Destiny Pomarico (West Babylon, N.Y.).

After being fouled in the box with 6:50 left to play in the first half, McKeever scored on her penalty kick attempt to cut the MSMC deficit to one, 3-2. With 2:13 remaining, FSC's Alexandria Tudisco (Massapequa, N.Y.) was awarded a penalty kick and converted with a shot to the bottom left corner of the net to bring the advantage back to two, 4-2. In a high scoring first half, the Rams went into halftime with a two-goal lead.

Farmingdale State nearly extended their lead to three at the 56:00 minute mark but a Knights save on Alena Gannon's (North Babylon, N.Y.) breakaway attempt kept the score at 4-2.

Sophomore midfielder Alyssa Parrotta (Centereach, N.Y.) tacked on the final goal late in the game as the Rams recorded the 5-2 victory.

The women's soccer team next will play host to Yeshiva in a Skyline Conference game on Friday, October 7th at 11:00 a.m.
